Huge breaking news is coming out tonight, and it could mark the biggest shake-up Star Wars has seen in years. Kathleen Kennedy is about to finish out her last week before stepping down as the head of Star Wars.
Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan will take up the helm of Star Wars creatively. It’s no surprise that Dave Filoni has taken over. His ideas and vision for the Star Wars franchise have far exceeded anything that’s come out in recent years.
You only have to look at The Mandalorian to understand.
There were also some projects still in the works over at Star Wars, as shown below:
For me, personally, none of this sounds interesting. Ben Solo doesn’t need any more attention than he already got. We know how his story plays out. It’s not needed.
Taika Waititi turned in a script for a film she calls “hilarious & great.”
Please, no. After Thor: Love and Thunder, I have zero faith in this. Even if the film ends up being a box office success, the fact that it’s already being dubbed as “hilarious” tells me all I need to know about this project.
Thankfully, a lot of these are just scripts. Dave Filoni is a big Legends fan. He’s already brought some aspects of Legends to life in a live-action setting. We have a huge backlog of stories and characters sitting in the Old Republic alone, not to mention what he’s been doing with the Mandoverse in recent years.
Star Wars has desperately needed a shake-up. It’s been more misses than hits since Disney bought the rights to Star Wars.
It’s a shame considering it’s one of the most vast and interesting franchises ever, but for some reason, they keep messing it up.
I’m glad this has happened. It’s restored a lot of faith I have. Filoni has always felt like a guy who cares about the projects he puts out. This is something we need.
Just give us a Revan story next, please, Dave!
