What I Liked

1. Season 2 kicks off immediately with a fight between Invincible and The Immortal. This fight is truly a spectacle. Both of them go back and forth. Omni-Man arrives and makes The Immortal lose an arm and then he snaps his other arm and punches off his head while Invincible crushes it. What we saw here must have been on a different Earth.

2. Omni-Man and Invincible find the survivors and begin to attack them. Invincible and Eve get into a fight while the others try their hardest to take down Omni-Man. Omni-Man takes down the robot and before death, the robot says to Omni-Man “One day you will die too.” To which Omni-Man responds “You should have died at birth”. Ruthless. Invincible also paralyzes Eve.

3. This first episode makes it seem like Mark has PTSD and hates himself that he didn’t save people while Omni-Man was going on that rampage. Even though Mark did stop Omni-Man and save the planet, not saving those lives is hurting Mark mentally.

4. It looks like Mark has to earn the trust of The Immortal. He tells Mark he’ll be watching him. I wonder if we’ll get a showdown between the two which will result in The Immortal trusting and respecting Mark.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

Invincible arrives to see the machine in use. He gets into a fight with the Maulers but more come from portals causing Invincible to get overwhelmed and beat up. The maulers begin to beat the life out of Invincible. The machine explodes and kills everyone except from Mark, Angstrom, and one Mauler.

Standout Character

I’ll give this to Mark. This episode truly set him up to be dealing with a lot following the huge fight with Omni-Man last season.

Verdict

Overall, a solid first episode to the second season. This episode set up multiple storylines for the upcoming season and one major storyline will be Mark dealing with his PTSD and becoming a better hero and earning the trust of The Immortal.
