As his return in Daredevil: Born Again, season one last year, Jon Bernthal once again suits up as Frank Castle and will return in a Marvel Television Special Presentation. Well, today a post was unveiled to show the new name and release date of this special presentation.
That’s right, the title is The Punisher: One Last Kill and will release on May 12, 2026. The synopsis for the special goes as follows: “As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight“.
The special will also be released a week after the season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. The eight-episode season 2 of “Born Again” premieres on Wednesday, the 25th, for UK fans and Tuesday, the 24th, for American viewers.
Jon Bernthal originally debuted as Frank Castle in Netflix’s Daredevil season 2 in 2016. The season saw Frank and Matt face off and later team up with him. The debut of the character became so well-received that they gave The Punisher a spinoff show that ran for 2 seasons from 2017 to 2019.
We know this is not the last time we’ll see the character in live-action, as we know Bernthal has returned to star alongside Spider-Man in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”. Fellow MCU characters like Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Michael Mando’s Scorpion from “Spider-Man: Homecoming will also reappear.
