Krypton “Ghost In The Fire” Review

Season 2 episode 2 “Adam Strange and Seg evade a bounty hunter, while General Zod uses Nyssa to further his cause.”

What Was Good?

1. The episode starts off with 2 cruiser ships flying through the outerlands when one of them crashes and explodes while something jumps on the remaining ship the pilot looks up to see Doomsday punching through the window.

2. Lobo has been in the show for an episode and like 2 minutes and has already made me think he’s the best thing about the show this season. He’s hilarious, straight from the comics and the actor who plays him is smashing it. The spin off series for Lobo is going to be so good.

3. While Lobo has Seg-el and Adam chained up, Seg starts acting weird, naming the precise miles Krypton is from Colu. This happens more throughout the episode until Lobo checks Brainiac’s body to see if he is actually dead and turns out Brainiac has implanted himself in Seg’s mind. At the end of the episode Seg and Adam try to go back to Krypton but Seg wants Adam to promise to kill him if Brainiac takes over, this is when Seg’s eyes turn fully black and the credits role.

4. Jayna-Zod has been making her way through the outerlands surviving alone but in her mind and physical state she thinks she’s speaking to her dead brother who she once left there to die.

What Was Bad?

1. The story arc on Krypton with Zod and Nyssa etc is so less interesting than what the story arc with Lobo is… I hope Lobo makes his way to Krypton.

2. Lyta is teaching cadets how to fight and survive when she see’s one of her students looks similar to Seg, She at first see’s Seg’s face then brutally beats him.

Holy Shit Moment

The fight scene between Seg and Lobo is so great, Lobo knocks Adam out… again and fights Seg after Brainiacs powers come out of Seg so they enter a fist fight with Seg reloading his fists as if he was paying homage to Henry Cavill in Mission Impossible.

The Verdict

Such an incredible episode in terms of learning about Lobo’s backstory, Seg’s abilities now Brainiac is in his mind. The journey Jayna-Zod is on and the path Lyta-Zod is headed down. Itching to see more of Doomsday.
