Krypton “The Alpha and The Omega” Review

Season 2 Episode 10 “The future of Krypton is at stake as Seg faces off against his enemy, General Zod, with the help of his allies.”

What Was Good?

1. General Zod watches on as the remains of Wegthor rain down onto Kandor from when it exploded because of Val and the resistance setting off bombs to stop Doomsday which Zod released onto the moon. Zod for me has been such an incredible villain throughout the past 2 seasons from his unexpected reveal to the twist of him being Seg’s son.

2. Seg returns to Val and the resistance and reveals that Kem sacrificed himself so that Seg and Krypton could survive. Val tells Seg that Kem will always be remembered.

Seg, Lyta, Val, Adam, Jayna and Dev all raise their glasses to have a toast in honor of Kem and each say a few words for him.

3. Nyssa is walking through some rocks when she finds a symbol. This symbol is no other than the Omega symbol… otherwise known as Darkseid’s symbol he uses. She looks into the sky to see hundreds of people with wings flying through the sky.

4. The bastich himself, Lobo returns in a way only Lobo could. Having a piss and in front of Seg. Lobo and Seg come to a arrangement to find Brainiac and for Lobo to return Jor-El.

5. Jayna and Dev are searching the outerland’s when they come across a big block of ice with no other than Doomsday frozen solid. Doomsday was so good, from his design to his brutality.

What Was Bad?

1. Adam and Nyssa have a conversation about Adam’s mentor and his teleporter he uses. Nyssa steals it and immediately teleports to Rann. Adam realizes that Nyssa played him but couldn’t stop her so now he’s trapped in the past.

Nyssa walks along the beach until she finds some burnt bodies.. One is barely alive when Nyssa finds him, but before he dies he points to the sky. Nyssa for me this season has been 50/50, some things she did was understandable but others were just stupid.

Holy Shit Moment

1. Seg and Lyta head to Kandor to personally confront Zod while the rest stay in the outerlands to fight the battle out there. Zods army and the Kandorian people stand up against Zod after hearing Lyta and Seg speak the truth so Seg offers Zod to step out side.

Zod is going up against Seg and Lyta and is standing his ground and fighting against both when Seg finally manages to get the best of him and stop him for good. Lyta and Seg need a prison to hold Zod so they decide to put him in the Black Mercy and give him his own vision of Zod and Lyta and Seg taking over Earth.

2. Brainiac teases taking Jor El to Earth to be a god among men. This would of been so good to see. It would be like Superman under Brainiac’s control.

The Verdict

Such an incredible season finale, from the action to the dialogue everything was just great. Seg finally stepping into the hero role the El’s are known for was amazing to witness. Lobo was such a laugh this season and was an incredible addition to the show. The teases that was in this episode got me hyped, Darkseid, Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
