Season 4 episode 16 “Sara and Ava concoct a bold plan to take back the Time Bureau; Zari and Charlie must work together to discover what Neron is planning; Constantine is given a tough choice on who to save from Hell.”
The Good & The Bad
The Good
1. Nora arrives in Hell to find and help Constantine, she waves her wand and it leads her to the place where Constantine is being tortured. Nora busts in and kills the person torturing Constantine and they make a plan to rob Neron’s vault and help Ray.
2. Tabitha and Neron go ahead with their plan to show the world that creatures do exist and they need to be stopped. Ray (Neron) is at the white house giving a speech as to why they need to be hunted all the while Tabitha has made Charlie into one of the senators and then she attacks the White House by turning into a huge squid.
3. The Legends learn that Neron’s plan is to collect all the fear and open a door way to Hell so they Legends concoct a plan to create Nate’s father’s vision of a themepark for magical creatures so they create that and hold a show which is when Tabitha attacks with a dragon.
4. Zari changes the timeline and this causes her brother to be a Legend instead of her.
The Bad
1. Ray is in Hell apparently getting “tortured” and the worst things happening to him, Constantine and Nora arrives to save him and we come to find that Ray has made a new friend… Vandal Savage… Savage is meant to be the one torturing him but he’s turned into a smiling, super friendly person while in Hell. Completely ruined the Savage character from Season One.
2. The Finale was going great with a few exceptions of forced jokes which i could deal with but towards the end it felt like the writers just gave up and forced the cast to sing out of nowhere which ruined the final battle.
Holy Shit Moment
While the Legends were giving their show about showing the world that magical creatures are not bad the camera pans to the crowd and we see no other than The Monitor just spectating the Legends while eating popcorn.
In the final battle we see Neron grab Constantine by the neck and break it, killing Constantine but then Neron starts having problems and we see that Nate and Constantine made a plan and switched looks so Neron would break his deal and leave Ray’s body. Constantine kills Neron and everyone sings to bring Nate back to life but not before Nate and his father have a heart to heart conversation.
Verdict
Solid episode right up until the end when the dropped the ball and turned into a musical. The writers ruined the Vandal Savage character. The show needs to go back to being serious.
