What I Liked

1. The opening scene is where we see Lord Vader’s Star destroyer following the ship through space, shooting at them. I had instant flashbacks to the opening of A New Hope. I love the call back to that moment, especially how Leia was on both ships. Truly amazing.

2. The scenes between Obi-Wan and young Leia are fantastic, you can tell they’ve both grown as people and grew into becoming a family of sorts. You can truly tell that this adventure Leia went on with Obi-Wan is the reason why the named her child, Ben.

3. Honestly, seeing Darth Vader and The Grand Inquisitor standing next to each other on the Star Destroyer is truly spectacular. I would have never guessed we’d see this live-action and I’m just loving every minute.

4. Owen and Beru try to hold their home against an invading Reva trying to get to Luke Skywalker. Reva wants justice and will stop at nothing to get it, she begins chasing a young Luke through the sands of Tatooine.

5. The traumatic events of Reva’s past, Order 66, the stab by Vader, was ultimately too much for her to deal the blow to Luke Skywalker. She kept seeing herself and seeing herself in the shoes of Anakin/Vader. While people dislike this character, this is development. Moses Ingram is an absolute blast as Reva.

6. Somehow, Palpatine returned. I do like the scene between Lord Vader telling Palpatine he serves only him. It was a small scene but I enjoyed it.

7. Obi-Wan said the thing. He said “Hello there” to a young Luke. Simply amazing. While riding off to his next home, Obi-Wan runs into an old friend… Master Qui-Gon. Liam Neeson returned as Qui-Gon Jinn in 2022, what is life?

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment was the duel between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, it was back and forth between the two but Obi-Wan tried to use the Force against Vader but Vader severely outmatched and outclassed Obi-Wan in the Force, and this wasn’t even Vader at 100% Force power.

This is where the line from A New Hope “When I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master.” We see PRIME Obi-Wan back, using the Force to free himself from the rubble, getting the drop on Vader, and the Force pushing him back around 25 feet.

Obi-Wan is relentless with his strikes, he breaks Vader’s breathing system, he swipes his back with a strike, and strikes his helmet breaking it and revealing Anakin. I loved this scene of Obi-Wan apologizing to Anakin. Anakin replying ” you didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, I did” was so emotional and you felt that pain within Obi-Wan’s eyes. We got to hear Anakin’s voice mixed in with parts of Darth Vader’s voice.

Standout Character

I don’t think I can choose just one standout.

Obi-Wan – He fully returned to his prime self. We saw some Force power that we haven’t seen from Obi-Wan in a long time. He was truly fantastic in this duel with Darth Vader.

Darth Vader – Went after his target Obi-Wan, dueled him to his best ability, and at one point overwhelmed Obi-Wan with his power of the Force until prime Obi-Wan returned. His speech about Obi-Wan not killing Anakin Skywalker and Lord Vader was powerful.

Verdict

What a finale. The duel between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan was truly incredible from the setting of the duel to the usage of the Force by the two, was absolutely insane. The story came to a nice end with Leia beginning to take the steps into that leadership role we see in the future. Seeing the return of Qui-Gon was amazing, the smile and happiness that Obi-Wan had at that moment were perfect.
