Spider-Man: Brand New Day has shown no signs of slowing down at the box office, becoming the biggest Spider-Man movie of all time and the seventh-highest-grossing movie ever. It is an absolutely monumental feat that deserves to be recognised.
To put this achievement into perspective, in a superhero landscape where billion-dollar movies are no longer unusual, Spider-Man is the only standalone superhero to headline a film that has grossed more than $2 billion. The only two other MCU films to cross that mark are Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

What is even more impressive is that Brand New Day is still in theatres. It needs only around another $10 million to overtake The Force Awakens and climb into sixth place. It just goes to show how valuable Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is to Sony and Marvel Studios.
I do hope that when Avengers: Endgame Encore returns to theatres this September, it takes the number-one spot. It is just great being a huge nerd and seeing comic-book movies be successful.
