Star Wars: The Bad Batch “Finale Part 1” Review

Season 1 Episode 15 “The Bad Batch find themselves in an unexpected territory in this thrilling finale.”

What I Liked?

1. The episode begins with a journey back to Kamino for Hunter as he’s being taken prisoner and somewhat as bait by Crosshair, when we arrive back at Kamino, the world feels eery, even more dark, and a lot duller and grittier, you can tell that this is the last moments of Kamino and this world, and how much The Empire truly doesn’t care for anything.

2. Omega tells Tech where to go, then the rescue party when onto a secret lift which takes them to a secret lab where Omega explains to Tech, Echo, and Wrecker that this is the lab where she was created, raised, and even watch the Kaminoans create Clone Force 99 in this lab, where they were given their special abilities and enhancements, throughout this scene you could tell that this lab was Omega’s home, that she had a connection to this single lab.

3. Grand Admiral Tarkin makes a hologram appearance in this episode giving special orders to Rampart that he has permission to open fire on Kamino. Rampart orders 3 Stardestroyers to go into orbit and open fire on the city on Kamino to get rid of the evidence that this place existed and to somewhat kill the last of the Clones which are The Bad Batch and Crosshair.

4. When the Bad Batch is trying to escape, they run to an outside platform, where the Bad Batch sees the absolute destruction that The Empire is doing to Kamino. This scene was also emotional for Omega because she saw what was happening and whether she likes it or not, this has been her home for her entire life, this was the place she grew up, learned, and had friends.

What I Disliked?

Absolutely nothing.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment was the scene where Crosshair had placed not only one trap for the rest of The Bad Batch members but also his new team of soldiers, he makes the Bad Batch drop their weapons, he speaks to Hunter about them joining The Empire as muscle, for what they were created for, he takes out his own team, Omega activates a lot of droids which forces the Bad Batch and Crosshair to work together to survive it, they manage to do, Hunter has Crosshair at gunpoint, Crosshair goes to raise his weapon but gets stunned by Hunter.

Standout Character

I have to give it to Hunter, throughout the episode he did not once stop trying to get through to Crosshair, even in the face of death he was still trying and was completely broken inside when Crosshair told him he had his chip removed long ago.

The Verdict

This was hands down, a top 3 episode of the entire season, I think this edges just behind the pilot episode. This first part to the 2-part finale was absolutely mind-blowingly beautiful. The story was absolutely perfect, the action was just the same, but where it truly shined was the animation, this was hands down some of the best animation I’ve seen, it was like I was watching a live-action movie in some shots.
