“Superman: Legacy” Adds Anthony Carrigan To The Cast

It looks like the casting for the next Superman movie is continuing. Fresh off of the back of the previous THREE castings, we have ourselves another casting for the film.

Yesterday it was announced that Superman: Legacy will be adding Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, and Nathan Fillion to the casting sheet in which the three will be portraying Hawkgirl (Merced), Mister Terrific (Gathegi), and Guy Gardner Green Lantern (Fillion).

It seems like James Gunn has an idea to bring “lesser-known” characters to live-action within this new Superman movie and follow a similar path as he did with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Anthony Carrigan has been cast as Metamorpho within the DCU.

Carrigan will be portraying Metamorpho aka archeologist-turned-hero Rex Mason. He will be joining the three previously mentioned actors as well as the recent Clark Kent and Lois Lane castings, if you want to check out that news, click here.

Unfortunately, the deals for these castings are being done in the midst of a potential actors strike. A SAG-AFTRA strike could happen as early as July 12th, and if that were to happen, any talks between agents, actors, and studios would immediately stop.

Superman: Legacy has an expected release date of July 11, 2025, with Gunn hoping to shoot early next year, James is currently directing and has written the script for the movie.
