What I Liked

1. I love how unphased Lana is when Lex appears in her office essentially threatening her. It shows huge character development there considering some of the things she’s seen and been through.

2. The Coach asking Jon and Jordan to return to the football team is hilarious. He knows about their powers as does seemingly everyone and he wants his hands on those titles, I can’t honestly say I wouldn’t try my hand at getting them back into the team either.

3. Lex’s plan begins to crumble as the woman he attempts to buy out in regard to her farm backs out of the deal, even Amanda begins to question Lex’s plans and his thirst for revenge. It’s intriguing to see Lex backed into a corner considering he’s basically had the upper hand for the entire series thus far.

4. After Lana is the one for making Lex’s plan go in the dump, he sends Otis after her in the middle of the night. He tries and almost very nearly succeeds until Sarah intervenes with a baseball bat. I thought honestly at that point Sarah would be killed off, that entire sequence was intense.

5. Amanda opts to side with Lex after everything that’s happened. As she’s discussing her next move, she mentions Lex needs to get a killer suit. I am honestly so ready for that. Let’s go!

What I Disliked

After Clark and Lex finish their fight, Jon and Jordan are hyping him up after winning. The reason why I dislike this scene is because of the guilt of going there. It makes little sense. Lex has played his cards well since the beginning, even stripping Superman of most of his powers – why is it such a bad thing that Clark finally drops Lex? It needed to happen and I agreed with the need to confront him. I hate these scenes when they’re downplayed after the fact, especially Lois.

Favorite Moment

I believe this is the first time we’ve seen Clark get angry in this show. He finally has enough of Lex and goes to confront him. Lex has managed to turn all of the street lights into what appears to be red sun-type lights which restricts Superman’s powers. He and Lex then fight but this time it’s human vs human after Clark mentions they will end him. This fight is incredible considering I’ve seen Superman fight powerless before. He does manage to get one up on Lex before Clark sees his family watching on. What a scene, what a moment.

Standout Character

That fight scene alone dictates that Clark takes the standout character for me this week. Seeing him that way was surprising and long overdue above all else. I am so happy we finally got to see him snap and batter Lex in the middle of the street even under the red-sun makeshift street lamps.

Verdict

Despite the fact this episode started off slow, it picked up at a great pace and we had some fantastic scenes throughout. This show is really shaping up to be one of the best comic book shows of the year, especially if it continues on this trajectory.
