So I recently did an article on why Insomniac should keep the X-Men in the shadows within Marvel’s Wolverine game. This is like an unofficial part 2 to that article, and this will be about the top 3 characters I would like to see appear within he game.
3. Deadpool
I feel like this should be a nailed-on appearance on anyone’s list of people appearing in the game. Why Wade would fit in this game is that he’s obviously another Weapon X experiment who brings a chaotic, unpredictable energy to any appearance.
He also offers that dark humor that could contrast with Wolverine’s stoicism, and could easily appear as a rival to Wolverine, as any fan would know the number of fights this duo has had in a number of comics.
2. Silver Fox
Silver Fox is a former lover and fellow Weapon X operative. This would add the emotional depth and conflict, something that Jean Grey would offer, but if they keep the X-Men in the shadows, this would be a perfect replacement.
She could also humanize Logan and tie into the espionage themes Mystique represents. Also, depending on the timeline, she could appear as an ally, an antagonist, or both, which would create a strong narrative twist to the game.
1. Sabretooth
Honestly, this is Wolverine’s ultimate rival. Throughout the ages, Victor Creed has been there to hurt Logan and to torture him. Sabretooth has a long-standing and brutal tradition of tracking down Wolverine on his birthday with the intention of tormenting and fighting him, going to the point of killing Wolverine’s son and using his body to spell out “Happy birthday”.
Victor would have the perfect physical and emotional match for a major boss fight within the game. Insomniac could also portray Victor as the tragic mirror of what Logan might become if he fully embraced the violence.
