Insomniac Games has had a great run with Marvel characters, apart from some DLC issues with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Overall, they have had a fantastic record of delivering amazing stories in games with fantastic graphics.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 1 set the standard for Insomniac Games, diving into the Marvel characters’ lore. They absolutely smashed it with that first game. The story for that game was fantastic, and to this day, I still find myself going back to play it.
Marvel’s Miles Morales was the first of Insomniac Games’ Marvel characters on the next-gen consoles. This game was made for the next-gen console, and it delivered a mid-season story between the two Spider-Man games.

They once again upped themselves by delivering a really great game in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, where not only could you play as black-suited Spider-Man, but they also allowed you to play as Venom. It was absolutely incredible.
Now, recently, it seems they have gone all out again. At the latest State of Play event, they showcased around 10 minutes of gameplay footage for their upcoming Marvel game “Wolverine”. My oh my, does this look incredibly brutal.
The gameplay for the upcoming Wolverine game is brutal. Every hit with Wolverine’s claws feels impactful; they feel deadly. The damage and regeneration for Wolverine’s abilities look ripped from the comics and movies.
Honestly, I would love Insomniac Games to take the reins for more characters such as Gambit, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Winter Soldier, and more. They deserve it.
