The long-awaited trailer for the second live-action Mortal Kombat movie has been released 4 years after the release of the first film. Mortal Kombat II serves as a sequel to the first movie and is the fourth installment in the Mortal Kombat film series.
Mortal Kombat stars Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada all return for the sequel movie, with Max Huang coming back as Revenant Kung Lao.

The film also sees Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, and Tati Gabrielle joining the cast. Martyn Ford joins the cast as Shao Kahn, Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod, Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel, and CJ Bloomfield as Baraka.
Following the release of the first Mortal Kombat in 2021, producer Todd Garner, writer Greg Russo, and director McQuoid began conversations about the future of the franchise, including standalone films focused on Johnny Cage and Bi-Han, as well as a sequel to the 2021 film.

Filming for the movie began in June 2023 in Australia, but the filming was paused in mid-July due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming then resumed in mid-November and wrapped in late January 2024.
Mortal Kombat II is scheduled to be theatrically released by Warner Bros. Pictures on October 24, 2025.
