September brought a brand new State of Play. As always with these events, it brings a lot of excitement for what is to come from Sony. While not all State of Plays have been overly exciting, September State of Plays usually deliver, and this one did deliver.
The main and probably the biggest reveal all year was Wolverine. We finally have new gameplay footage of Wolverine by Insomniac Games, and it is glorious. It has been such a long wait since we’ve had anything released regarding Wolverine.
The studio released a new trailer showcasing a mix of cinematic and gameplay, and showcasing the bloody superhero gameplay. While no date has been given as of yet, the trailer stated it had a “fall 2026” release.
Official description for Wolverine… “Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.”
While Wolverine was the main focus and main reveal of the event, there were many other games announced.

- Saros (Releases March 20th, 2026)
- Deus Ex Remastered (Early 2026)
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (December)
- Battlefield 6 (October 10th)
- Zero Parade: For Dead Spies (2026)
While at the event, Sony also revealed a couple of new tech gadgets that they are releasing. Firstly, they announced a new set of PULSE Elevate Wireless Speakers, which you can use with your PS5, PC, Mac, and even a PlayStation Portal or smartphone. The Wireless speakers also have a built-in mic and will offer “lifelike desktop audio.”
They then announced a brand new God of War Kratos-inspired PS5 controller. The Kratos-inspired controller will be released on October 23rd.
