Marvel Television’s “Wonder Man” Early Impressions

Recently, Marvel had released their latest TV series “Wonder Man” On Disney+, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley. Now, I won’t lie, I’m not the most knowledgeable person about Wonder Man, but when I heard Yahya was cast in this role, I was excited for it, as I loved him in previous projects.

Now, after watching the first two episodes, I have some thoughts and opinions on the show, the cast, and the overall premise of the show. Overall, the style of the show is unique. You’re seeing an actor trying to wind the role of Wonder Man, while it’s slowly revealing he actually has powers. It is different and very interesting.

Now, the character of Simon Williams is decent. He’s a rundown person, you know, losing his job, his girlfriend, his powers are somewhat going haywire. He just wants to act, and get everything right the first time, and often enough has an OCD persona when it comes to the script, character, etc. that he is playing.

While not much action has happened within the series as of yet, the tease we have is when Trevor gets a phone call and is obviously working for someone to stop Simon, as he was a super and his powers are out of control. I do feel as though we might get some action, but I do hope that this is not the series where we wait until the final episode and then get nothing from it.

Even after the first episode, I really enjoyed the character. I can see a lot of potential with this character, so I hope Marvel can see the same as I and keep this character around for a long time.

What do you think of Wonder Man so far? I am enjoying the series so far.
