Comic Shows Ranked Worst to Best in 2025

Welcome to our Show of the Year article for the fifth year in a row. The Acolyte won the spot last year, but this year, we crown a new winner.

We gave the vote to the public. We sent out a link with a form where people could vote for their favorite top 5 shows in order. Each of the top 5 carried points.

  1. 10 points
  2. 8 points
  3. 6 points
  4. 4 points
  5. 2 points

Please note, our ranking ONLY goes off the shows that we at Only Comic Universe reviewed or discussed, so if your show is not showing, it’s because we never reviewed it or talked about it (we only have a limited number of writers). We reviewed 12 shows in total across 2025, but there can only be 1 winner.

We surveyed over 50 people. Those who left their names will be credited below. Thank you to everyone who took part.

12. What If…? (50 points)

Average rating – 8.2/10

It’s no surprise the third season of What If…? is at the bottom of this list. Despite the series having a very strong opening season, it continued to decline as each episode progressed. It felt like it no longer was a What If…? series dedicated to stories that had a slight variation; instead, it felt like it was a Captain Carter animated show.

11. Skeleton Crew (60 points)

Average rating – 8/10

Skeleton Crew was one of those series that I thought would be poor. It felt like it was marketed as a children’s show, whereas it was a show about children. I was pleasantly surprised at how decent this show was. It featured a group of kids getting lost in space amongst pirates and a force-sensitive villain. It was a fun ride, and I still do hope we get a second season.

10. Eyes of Wakanda (64 points)

Average rating – 9.3/10

Eyes of Wakanda was great for what it was. It was a unique perspective for a few different stories within the Wakandan world and the system they have had going on for many generations. We got introduced to many different Wakanda characters and not just Wakandan characters but also a new Iron Fist. We got to see the show go into the future, too, and link with Killmonger in the first Black Panther movie.

9. Ironheart (82 points)

Average rating – 7.1/10

I had high hopes for Ironheart. I loved the character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. What we got with the Ironheart show was a disaster for the most part. It received a 7.1 on average from us, but looking back and reflecting on this, did it deserve it to be that high? Probably not. Ironheart was hurt by the strikes, poor timing, and a weak story that didn’t do anything for the character’s development. Unfortunately, I don’t think Riri will ever live up to the Iron name. She’s a good side character, but that’s as far as it goes.

8. Andor (122 points)

Average rating – 8.2/10

Andor was decent for what it was as well. It was not a perfect Star Wars show, and I will not lie, the second season felt rushed. Not in terms of action or episodes, but the story. When Andor was first announced, it was announced that it would lead up to the Rogue One movie, so the second season had to fit in 4 years into one season, and while the setup worked, it just felt rushed.

7. Marvel Zombies (128 points)

Overall rating – 9.8/10

Marvel Zombies was absolutely brilliant. From the story to the action. The choice of the characters was great. Each episode fits perfectly together. The way each episode’s story links perfectly to the next episode was outstanding, and how it set up a potential second season was even better.

6. Wednesday (136 points)

Overall rating – 8.6/10

I’m not too surprised to see Wednesday further down on this list. The first season won our 2023 Show of the Year. Season 2 was a good follow-up up but I still believe that the first season was vastly superior. The second season took too long to fully get into everything. It bordered on the sense of intrigue for too long, especially with the zombie and the raven stories. Once it got into it properly, it was brilliant. I just wish they had gotten into it sooner.

5. Invincible (140 points)

Average rating – 9.5/10

Invincible was a decent season, and I expect no less of Invincible. Each season is just incredible. The action is incredible, but for some reason, this season was just even better. The developers of this season put the most budget into the action, and that was some of the action and scenes that made this season incredible.

4. Gen V (168 points)

Average rating – 8.8/10

Gen V came back after an unfortunate event. The season had to go through rewrites because of this event as well, and the new updated season was decent. The characters and action were decent throughout the season. What made this season amazing was the setup at the end for the upcoming season of The Boys.

3. The Last of Us (174 points)

Average rating – 8.2/10

Third on our list. I am shocked. I thought The Last of Us had some solid moments, including Joel’s golfing trip. However, this show got ripped apart. Ellie’s “I’m gonna be a dad” moment rocked this. The first season did so well, staying so true to the games, adding bits carefully where they needed to. The second season wasn’t all of that. I think Abbie’s half in season 3 will be a lot better. I hope it is. I’m a huge Last of Us fan. I’ve defended the show a lot; I can’t defend season 2 all that much.

2. Peacemaker (184 points)

Average rating – 8.7/10

Honestly, looking back at Peacemaker, I feel like the season could have had more action. The story was somewhat decent. The season had some funny moments and some decent character development. The final episode let the season down for me though, unfortunately. John Cena is always great as this character.

1. Daredevil: Born Again (274 points)

Average rating – 9.1/10

The first time here at Only Comic Universe, we’ve agreed with the vote and voted this show for our show of the year as well. Born Again wasn’t perfect. Then again, 2025 wasn’t an amazing year for pop-culture TV as is. Daredevil, though, definitely did stand out. It was a fantastic show. Disney did well in ensuring that they didn’t stray too far from the Netflix formula that worked so tremendously well. I am really looking for to the second season. I think all, it’s just so damn nice to see the Netflix heroes return once more.
