There was an HBO Max Upfront event located in São Paulo. Reports coming out from the event have revealed that DC Studios showcased a trailer for the upcoming 2026 TV series “Lanterns” and provided the first look at the long-awaited Green Lantern series.
The teaser offers the first look at the project and provides key story details. With the 2026 premiere approaching, the series is continuing to gain interest.

The teaser, while not yet released online, shows Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) training together for several months. The trailer showcases Hal as a “substitute teacher” figure, though it does not reveal whom he replaces.
The footage also includes a brief scene of Hal Flying and mentions Ch’p, DCU’s Fourth Green Lantern, after Guy Gardner, Hal, and John. Ch’p is a squirrel-like Green Lantern Corps member from the comics. The teaser also sets the story in rural areas of the United States with a western tone.
The trailer shows Stewart and Jordan arguing, with Stewart saying he outperforms Hal in saving lives. The reports are conflicted whether they see the duo suited up. According to reports from a reliable journalist, there is a couple of shots with the duo in the suits with inspiration from the comics.
The eight-episode series follows Stewart and Jordan as they investigate a murder in the American heartland, possibly involving a Green Lantern Corps member. Executive producers Damon Lindelof, Chris Mundy, and Tom King co-wrote the story.
The cast includes Garret Dillahunt and Kelly Macdonald. Nathan Fillion returns as Guy Gardner, reprising his role from Superman. The series is expected to premiere in the second half of 2026.
