There have been a few odd posts going around on my Facebook claiming that Starkiller will be showing up in the second season of Ahsoka, portrayed by Sam Witwer. In The Force Unleashed series, Sam Witwer was the man who brought Starkiller to animation. This did get me thinking tonight if Starkiller should show up in Ahsoka.
Now, understandably, Starkiller is a huge Legends character thanks to the video games. He’s up there with the likes of Revan in terms of popularity, I believe. I understand why he hasn’t featured in the canon universe yet. For me, he’s too overpowered. It would shake things up too much and could also shatter the known lore around Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.
Starkiller did things never seen before in the games, including pulling a Star Destroyer down using his force powers only. It took Yoda (despite his old age) everything he had to pull an X-Wing out of a pond on Dagobah.
It ripped apart the continuity of the lore itself. Darth Vader having a secret apprentice that is arguably more powerful than what prime Anakin Skywalker would’ve been doesn’t make a lot of sense in the grand scheme of things.
What I complain though if he did show up? Absolutely not.
I love Sam Witwer, and I do actually love Starkiller. I firmly believe this is one of those characters that is suited better towards the Legends aspect instead of the larger canon universe. I know I’m in the minority, most likely with this, but if they do bring him in as he was in the games, how do you find someone that can compete with that level? Even more so, Vader’s dead at this point, and Palpatine is in the shadows.
They could bring him as a slightly different version of himself, after all, there were clones made of Starkiller, so they could slightly spin the story ever so slightly to make him fit in the wider universe. I wouldn’t mind that. I believe there are other characters I feel would be better suited to a second season of Ahsoka than I would for Starkiller.
Ahsoka is already filled with rumors, as Star Wars shows often are, with characters that could show up. You already have the characters linked to The Mandalorian, Luke Skywalker, Cal Kestis, and now Starkiller, which isn’t something concrete at all. It’s more just a page running with an idea, but any of these would be great to see in the second season.
Either way, I’m excited for the next season of Ahsoka. Seeing Thrawn return at the end of the first season adds so much anticipation as we head forward. Filming did begin in April 2025 and is so far still ongoing as far as I’m aware, so I don’t expect anything to drop for the show until maybe summer 2025.
