Lanterns has just debuted on HBO Max, so I think this is a good time to get an article based around my top 3 Green Lanterns of all time. The Green Lantern Corps is a massive collective of species from around the galaxy coming together with the power of will to protect the galaxy from evil threats.
3. Hal Jordan
Usually when you speak about a Green Lantern, it’s usually followed by “Hal Jordan”, and for many, he’s probably their number one, but for me, he barely cracks the top 3. He’s reckless, overly confident, and occasionally his own worst enemy, but that is exactly what makes him compelling. The history he shares with Sinestro, Parallax, and the Corps gives you some of the best stories coming out of Green Lantern history.
2. John Stewart
As someone who has the perfect combination of discipline, leadership, and sheer willpower. His military background and architectural mind make the way he uses the ring such a unique way because the constructs he tends to create feel deliberate rather than random. Not to mention, John was THE Green Lantern for me growing up with shows such as Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
1. Kyle Rayner
Kyle is usually the Lantern who gets forgotten about in live-action. From the likes of Hal and John, to even Guy, Kyle is usually the one who comes last. His mind is an infinite range of beauty, as he is an artist, so his imagination is perfect for the ring. The journey Kyle went on from essentially being handed the last Green Lantern ring to becoming one of the most powerful and important Lanterns in DC history, including becoming Ion and eventually a White Lantern. I hope at some point we can see Kyle enter the live-action space, even if he starts off being a White Lantern.
Lanterns has the opportunity to become something truly amazing if they bring in other colours of the spectrum with other Lanterns.
