What I Liked
1. I do like how James Gunn has reshot the ending of season 1, where we see Peacemaker call the Justice League a few names, and replaced it with the updated “Justice Gang” from within the DCU instead. It’s a massive notice, but one I’m not too fussed with.
2. Peacemaker goes in for an interview with Maxwell Lord and the two founding members of the Justice Gang, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. The interview doesn’t actually go well as the microphones get messed up and Peacemaker hears what Maxwell, Hawkgirl, and Green Lantern said about him.
3. I absolutely love the fact that the show is connected to Superman. Having mentions of what happened on Earth with the multiverse rift is a fantastic addition to the overall story of the season and what is to come.
4. Seeing the moment when Peacemaker heads into a different world where his father is good, his brother is alive and a superhero, and the three of them are a crime-fighting super team that has done incredibly well as a trio.
What I Disliked
The dance opening credits don’t hit quite as much as the first season dance opening credits did. The opening credits just don’t have the same impact as they did. Although seeing Frank Grillo do this dance was hilarious.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would be when Peacemaker fought Peacemaker. Seeing Peacemaker hit Peacemaker with throwing stars and seeing the two go at it and seeing which Peacemaker would come out on top of the fight was crazy and a bit brutal until our Peacemaker hits the other world’s Peacemaker’s jet and kills him by impaling him on a spike.
Standout Character
I’m going to give this to Peacemaker. Seeing him go through the range of emotions he did within this episode, seeing him also go up against a different version of himself and still come out on top was fantastic.
Verdict
Overall, a solid first episode that had a range of emotions from different characters trying to find themselves again after the events of the first season. Seeing Peacemaker go on this spiral of heartbreak into drugs into more heartbreak, seeing his brother once again was incredible.
