What I Liked

1. The episode opens up in Crete in 1260 B.C., where we see the Wakandans on the side of The Lion begin to raid a town, where we get introduced to a fierce warrior who ultimately gets taken down by the Lion.

2. The Dora Milaje leader recruits a former member of the Dora Milaje to go undercover and to bring in The Lion, a former high-ranking member of the Wakandan army. We get to see this former Dora Milaje member take down a couple of members of The Lion’s army.

3. We get to see the Dora Milaje soldier take down multiple of the Lion’s men, including what seems to be his generals. The action within this part of the episode was so good, and the animation made it really good as well.

4. Noni reveals to the Dora Milaje leader that she wishes to serve Wakanda once again.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be seeing The Lion try to persuade Noni to join him. The two engage in a fierce battle, with Noni coming out on top and the Lion setting off a huge explosion.

Standout Character

Noni takes the standout in this episode. She was just a fantastic addition to the Wakandan lore.

Verdict

Overall, a solid first episode with some decent action and a solid first story. Seeing very early Wakanda history was fantastic. The animation style for the show absolutely works; it feels like a Wakandan animation.
