John Cena returns as Peacemaker! Season 2 of the highly-rated Peacemaker series will be available on August 21. The series also sees the return of Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick.
The series also adds Frank Grillo, Sol Rodriguez, David Denman, Tim Meadows, and Michael Rooker. The series was ordered in February 202,2 with Gunn set to return to direct and write all eight episodes of the second season.
Filming was expected to begin back in 2023, but was put on hold with Gunn officially stepping into the co-CEO of DC Studios and switching his focus to directing the latest Superman film starring David Corenswet.
The spin-off series Waller was then prioritized, but Waller was put on hold due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, and in March 2024, Gunn announced that the second season of Peacemaker would now come first, with filming beginning the following month.
Filming of the second season took place at the same time as Superman at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
The season received positive reviews from critics, who actually found the second season to be better than the first, with critics praising Cena’s performance, as well as the wider cast.
