It’s Time We Finally Got Our First Look at Star Wars Jedi 3

It feels like an eternity since we last heard anything substantial about the next Star Wars Jedi game. It’s now been three and a half years since Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched, and despite knowing that a third instalment is in development, we’re still waiting for Respawn Entertainment to give us even the slightest tease of what’s to come.

Thankfully, there’s reason to be optimistic. Recent rumours suggest the game is already in the later stages of development, with Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier recently indicating that the third instalment is far along and should be officially announced soon.

Naturally, that’s got fans looking towards one particular event: The Game Awards.

Set to take place on December 10, the annual event has become one of gaming’s biggest showcases for announcements, trailers, and surprise reveals. It would certainly be a fitting occasion for Respawn to finally unveil the next chapter in Cal Kestis’ story.

After all, it was at The Game Awards in 2022 that we received our first proper gameplay look at Jedi: Survivor. Could history repeat itself?

Both Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor delivered some of the strongest Star Wars storytelling we’ve experienced in gaming. Survivor, in particular, left Cal facing an uncertain future, with the temptation of the dark side becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

There’s still so much potential to explore, from Cal’s relationship with Merrin to his responsibilities towards Kata and the lasting consequences of everything he’s endured. Whatever direction Respawn chooses, the final chapter has the opportunity to deliver something truly special.

For now, we’d settle for a cinematic teaser, an official title, and perhaps a glimpse of an older Cal Kestis. With The Game Awards just over a month away, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the Force is finally with us.

It’s been long enough, Respawn. Give us Jedi 3.
