Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake Is Reportedly Dead

Two years ago, Star Wars fans got excited with the announcement that the Knights of the Old Republic video game would be getting a remake, they even released a teaser announcing it. As you can see below.

Well, since then it has not been good news for the remake. According to Jeff Grubb on his Game Mess Mornings Show.

“I just want to clear it up, this game is not being worked on right now, Just full stop. This game is not being worked on in any way, at any studio.”

Originally announced back in 2021, the remake has been through development turmoil from the start. With it first being in development by Aspyr Media before it was given to Saber Interactive in August of 2022.

Jeff Grubb also mentioned that the game may have been moved away from Saber Interactive as well.

The thing that makes me believe this is true is the fact that Sony has removed mentions of the game from social media and YouTube. Embracer Group also failed to confirm that the game was still in development during quarterly earning calls.

Honestly, when Sony removed the trailer due to “music” reasons, I should have known that this was coming. I can’t say I’m not sad about it. This was going to be THE Star Wars game.
