There has been a ton of news coming from the production of the latest Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Starfighter. The film, which stars Ryan Gosling and Flynn Gray, has had some interesting visitors to the set, and one who even filmed a scene.
First of all, the movie’s story is about a “father-son dynamic”. The film will also have Jedi and will officially include at least 1 lightsaber duel within it.
Kathleen Kennedy stated that she had no hesitation in hiring Shawn Levy for the project. Steven Spielberg visited the set of Star Wars: Starfighter.

Probably one of the biggest behind-the-scenes news stories was that the legend that is Tom Cruise visited the set. Not only did Cruise visit the set, he actually filmed a lightsaber duel.
Shawn Levy said, “Last week, Steven Spielberg was here. And now Tom Cruise is wielding a camera, ruining his very nice shoes. Now, when you see the movie, you’ll know that part of it was shot by Tom. I mean, how cool is that?”
“Cruise just wanted to watch, he told them, but Levy, setting up a scene involving a lightsaber duel in the water, suggested the star jump on one of the cameras. He’d meant it as a joke. But there was Cruise, wading into the muddy pond, holding the camera like a pro.”
Star Wars: Starfighter is set to release on May 28, 2027.
