
That is right, the classic animated movie for The Simpsons Movie has been announced. The very long-awaited follow-up is set to hit the big screen 18 years after the first film.
The original feature film has a budget of $75 million and made a massive $536.4 million at the box office. Released in 2007, the film proved to be a massive commercial success.
The animated sitcom has run for 36 years, with the 37th premiering on the 28th September. In addition to the whopping 791 episodes, there have also been a few special installments.

In a post on Instagram, 20th Century Studios confirmed the sequel movie would release on 23 July 2027. The post showcased a poster of Homer grabbing a doughnut, with it reading “Homer’s coming back for seconds.”
Fans of the first movie praised the announcement by writing things like “They actually stuck to their promise about waiting 20 years for a sequel.”
Fans were also quick to comment about the Spider-Pig running joke from the first movie. This was a surprise welcome as several producers on the series explained why a second feature film wasn’t on the radar, with creator Matt Groening saying it was an arduous process.
