Recently, the animated series “Eyes of Wakanda” debuted on Disney+, and honestly, it was actually a really good animated show that showcased Wakandan lore, past and future. We got introduced to some new Wakandans that we haven’t seen before, and the series even debuted a new female Black Panther and Queen of the remains of Wakanda in the future timeline.
Within the fourth episode, we get to see a future look into what the planet would become since Wakanda never shared technology that could have saved the Earth from being devastated by an alien race. Within this episode, we get to see a glimpse of Killmonger from Black Panther 1.
Now, given that we have seen new Wakandan stories in animated form, I believe it’s time to have an animated series focused on Killmonger and his life growing up and becoming the killer we saw in the first Black Panther movie.
Michael B. Jordan would come back instantly to do this as well, as he loves that character. I feel as though, while we did get a great story with Killmonger in the first Black Panther movie, I feel like his story was not expanded upon enough.
Yes, we saw his flashbacks to being a kid and seeing his father be killed by the Wakandan King at that time and we obviously saw his scared body from his time going across the globe as a mercenary, but why can we not see this in an animated form if they do not want a solo Killmonger film or live-action series?
Honestly, I believe that if this was done by Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan, it would be such a great series for Disney+, and this would be something everyone would want to watch. The number of people I saw who said Killmonger should return to be the new Black Panther was massive before Letitia Wright took the mantle.
