Andor “One Year Later” Review

Season 2 Episode 1 – “An undercover mission. A sanctuary threatened. A Chandrilan wedding. A chilling Imperial plan.”

What I Liked

1. The season begins with Andor undercover in an Imperial test station on a planet named Sienar. He’s undercover and working with a tie mechanic who is obviously very nervous and is about to have her entire life changed simply because she’s working for Cassian.

2. Cassian tries to steal a new prototype tie fighter, but he can not seem to get a grip on the controls to fly the ship until everything goes wrong, he crashes, stormtroopers come running in, and he kills them all with the guns on the ship. He uses an explosive to kill the last remaining stormtrooper and manages to escape.

3. It’s nice to see the return of Director Krennic from the Rogue One movie. I’m hoping that we see him play a major role in this season, given how important he is to the death of not only himself, but also to Cassian as well.

4. I do really like how the show portrays that the Empire is this big force to be reckoned with, whereas on the other hand, you have all these rebellion groups running around, plotting and scheming things from all different aspects of life, from the rundown and poor to the rich and famous.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment came when Cassian tried to steal the ship at the beginning of the episode. The scene had everything: action, comedy, and was just overall a good scene.

Standout Character

I’m going to give this to Cassian. He was the standout within the episode.

Verdict

Overall, a really good start to the season. I’m hoping we get to see more of the rebellion doing heists and missions to ultimately take down the Empire. This episode had some good action, some comedic moments, and some decent dialogue.
