Netflix had its event to showcase the extended look at the very highly anticipated and long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6. They showcased a range of activities, missions, customization, and locations within the game.
There was a variety of activities shown within the extended look. Some of the activities included were mini golf, kayaking, scuba diving, gym work, parachute jumping, going to the zoo/studying animals, and doomscrolling through a social media feed. Not to mention, you can go to the gym to gain weight/lose weight.
Another major factor showcased was that players would need to learn how to maintain a relationship. There is an optional romance story between Jason & Lucia, managed by having the two spend time together outside of missions. Ways to strengthen the relationship include going shopping, visiting hair salons, and doing robberies together. Ignoring the text messages from the other may negatively affect your relationship; when playing as one character, you can summon the other to help out.
The first details about the wanted level and police within GTA 6 have been revealed too. 6-star wanted level returns, with police still recognizing you after losing the wanted level if you have the same hairstyle and clothing on. Equipping masks during a crime can also prevent police from knowing your appearance; Jason and Lucia can split up to divert attention from the other, and hot areas will appear on the map when police come to this area after you have committed a crime, and they will remain here for a period of time.
The Grand Theft Auto 6 map will be Rockstar’s largest open world ever. It will be 2x the size of Grand Theft Auto 5, and it will be 3x the size of Red Dead Redemption 2. Vice City and its surroundings are a massive 11x bigger than Los Santos and its surroundings.
GTA 6 reportedly takes over 80 hours to complete. Rockstar’s Rob Nelson says it took him 80 hours in his last playthrough, which included the main story + some optional objectives. This was in February as well, so it’s unknown if this number is higher now. GTA 6 includes parodies of influencers as well as in-game livestreams.
It’s honestly going to be a generational game. It’s going to be a game of the year contender, and that last night on Grand Theft Auto 5 will be sad, but I am excited to play this game on launch day.
