While doing promotional work for Gladiator 2, Denzel Washington appeared on the Today Show to speak about the film as well as speaking about his upcoming film roles and projects before potentially retiring.
As seen in the clip below, Denzel speaks about it;
While speaking about choosing films, Denzel states that he wants to work for the best directors in the business and mentions Ryan Coogler is currently writing a role for him in the upcoming Black Panther 3 movie.
I’d never thought I’d see the day when Denzel Washington would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s crazy that Marvel still has the power to draw in these massive caliber actors to join the projects that they have.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ryan Coogler creates a brand new character for the film for Denzel to portray or if Ryan allows Denzel to take on the role of an already-established character from the comics.
What do you think about Denzel joining Black Panther 3? For me, this is poetic. Chadwick Boseman himself has stated that there would be no Black Panther without Denzel.
