In quite a not-so-shocking revelation, both of the upcoming Avengers movies have been delayed by Disney. Thankfully within the same year but this does include Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Avengers: Doomsday was originally set for release on May 1st, 2026 and is now pushed back to December 18th, 2026.
Avengers: Secret Wars was originally set for release on May 2nd, 2026 and is now pushed back to December 17th, 2026.
In all honesty, I can’t say I’m surprised. After Marvel was seemingly building Jonathan Majors’ Kang to be the next big villain, only for the allegations to come out about him, and he was subsequently fired, this has led to Marvel having to completely shift their plans.
There were also rumors that there were still more actors to be cast in the film, but this was never confirmed. It kind of does make sense as it could allow, potentially, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to feature as his film is still slated for July 31st, 2026.
Of course, there is some disappointment that the film has been pushed back, but looking at the positives, it does mean it gives Marvel more time to get these right. Plus, I guess it does add some festive cheer to the holidays when they do release next year.
