Only Comic Universe is looking for a new Director to help take the company forward.
We’re an independent entertainment website covering everything from Marvel and DC to Star Wars, movies, television and video games. Over the years, we’ve built a platform that we’re proud of, and we’re now looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, contribute content and help us grow.
This isn’t your typical job opportunity. We’re looking for someone who wants to become involved in running the business, shares our interests and sees the potential in what we’ve built.
What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for someone who’s creative, motivated and genuinely interested in the entertainment industry.
Ideally, you’ll be able to:
- Write articles, reviews and opinion pieces across the topics we cover.
- Bring new ideas to the table and contribute to the creative direction of the website.
- Help identify opportunities to grow our audience and improve the business.
- Get involved in decisions about the future of Only Comic Universe.
- Work independently, communicate well and contribute regularly.
Previous writing or editorial experience would be useful, but it isn’t essential. We’re more interested in finding someone who enjoys what we cover and wants to get involved.
Is This a Paid Position?
We want to be upfront about this from the beginning.
This is currently an unpaid position.
Only Comic Universe is run as a hobby alongside other commitments, and we’re looking for someone who wants to approach it in the same way.
We’re not expecting someone to treat this as a full-time or part-time job. We understand that work, family and personal commitments come first.
However, we do have ambitions for the company.
Our long-term goal is to grow Only Comic Universe into a successful business that can generate enough income to potentially provide a living for those involved.
There’s no guarantee we’ll reach that stage, and we’re not offering or promising a salary in the future. But that’s ultimately what we’d like to achieve, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help us work towards it.
What Would Your Role Involve?
This opportunity goes beyond writing articles.
We’re looking for someone who wants to be involved in running Only Comic Universe, helping to make decisions and taking an active role in developing the website.
You’ll work directly alongside the existing Director, contributing to both the editorial and business sides of the company.
The intention is for the successful applicant to take on a formal company directorship, subject to the necessary appointment process. This comes with legal responsibilities, which we’ll discuss before any appointment is made.
The position does not automatically include shares or ownership of the company.
