Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake – Update

For some time now the status and development for the upcoming remake Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic has been invisible, and unknown, well a recent report suggests differently.

According to the Embracer Group, the game is very much still in the works.

During the company’s year-end report which was published earlier this month, Embracer Group had a section that stated all the planned games released or in development as of the 24th of May, 2023.

The list of games includes the likes of Tomb Raider, Remnant 2, Ride 5, Warhammer 40,000, Space Marine II, and the Knights of the Old Republic. According to the report, the game is set to release on PC and PlayStation 5.

Development is being led by an “internal” studio at Embracer Group, although no further details were given.

While this might seem like a huge step forward for the game, the remake has not had the best of development. Initially revealed back in 2021 when Aspyr showed a quick teaser and revealed it was in development.

Since then it was revealed that Aspyr would no longer be working on the game and that Saber Interactive, a subsidiary of Embracer Group would be the ones to step up and take the development.

The game does look like it’s still going ahead… for now.
