What I Liked

1. Immediately we get reintroduced to the Bad Batch on a mission that is obviously going wrong. As per their style, missions tend to always go sideways. This time, the group is attacked by some giant crab-looking monsters while stealing some supplies. The Bad Batch has also adopted a new colorway for their armor, instead of black/grey and red, it’s now grey, white, blue, and orange, just a whole lot brighter than season one’s look.

2. I get why Hunter is doing this mission of going to Count Dooku’s palace to retrieve a war chest, he wants Omega to have a decent life, one that she deserves but I’m also leaning on Echo’s side of the argument. The Empire is a villain, people need help from them, The Bad Batch has the power, the tactics, and the aggression to help people.

3. I love a good old cliffhanger, especially in the first part of a two-part premiere. Omega, Tech, and Echo are all locked inside a container free falling back to the ground… Do they all survive?

What I Disliked

1. I get that the Bad Batch is different and that they have some morals but the enemies they are fighting are not their brothers, they are not clones, they are humans that are trained to kill them. The Bad Batch needs to begin doing the same before it goes wrong.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would definitely be the heist itself. Echo, Omega, and Tech get stuck inside the transport ship, Wrecker and Hunter try to hold onto the outside of the ship but ultimately have to drop and fight a bunch of Stormtroopers.

Standout Character

Honestly, while they all play an equal amount of time, I’m going to give this to Echo. I stand by what he said about helping the people that the Empire is doing wrong to.

Verdict

Overall, a solid first episode to the second season of the Bad Batch. This episode was action-packed, and kind of emotional because you have Hunter who is trying to give Omega the best life she can have, and then Echo who knows they could be a massive help to the galaxy.
