Understandably, due to the COVID19 pandemic, both Eternals and Venom 2 was pushed back, along with the long-awaited Black Widow movie.
At this point in time, Black Widow and Venom 2 would have both been showcased in theatres worldwide. Also, we would have been looking ahead to the Eternals movie set for the original release on November 6th.
As I mentioned, nobody can be surprised these movies have been pushed back. As of now, here’s the current schedule for the movies delayed;
- Black Widow – May 7th 2021
- Venom 2 – June 25th 2021
- Shang Chi – July 9th 2021
- Eternals – November 5th 2021
All in all, if everything calms down with the virus, we’re in for a pretty filled year and I am excited. However, it’s likely that if the virus doesn’t change or worsens, we might get further delays.
Moving onto the trailers. This is where I’m slightly annoyed. Eternals was set for release in just a couple of weeks time, and a trailer was rumoured to be ready for a worldwide release. So, where is it?
There’s next to zero hype for this movie as it currently stands, and a trailer would most likely change that. However, nothing. Not a teaser, just straight up nothing which doesn’t make sense.
Then Venom 2, where is it? We had a full transcript for the Venom 2 trailer, and what is showed exactly. Nothing. We’re getting next to zero communication in regards as to when we can expect these trailers.
It sucks for those who are desperately looking forward to these movies, but nothing is there to tie them over until the movies are actually released.
As of right now, there are no timescales on when we can expect any further trailers, especially for Venom 2 considering the movie should have been in cinema, and most likely out of the cinema by this stage had it not been for COVID.
This is something we need to tick us over as the only thing we have to look forward to currently for this year is Ryan Reynold’s Free Guy if that isn’t pushed back.
