What I Liked

1. We see a group of Mandalorians in an Imperial ship, they are being paid to bring in a group of Mon Calamari. The Mandalorian group is led by Axe Woves with Koska Reeves by his side, with a bunch more Mandalorians in his group. I do like how this season is showing more and more Mandalorians.

2. Jack Black joining the Star Wars universe? I did not expect this but I’ll take it. This episode is giving us all the cameos, Jack Black, Lizzo, Christopher Lloyd? This is great.

3. Bo-Katan and Din are tasked with ending a battle droid problem that the city is having. Din, being the person who somewhat hates droids, begins kicking the battle droids while Bo-Katan speaks with another droid, the battle droid then hits Din and begins to run.

4. I won’t lie, I’m absolutely loving the tension between Din and Bo-Katan. While she wants to be diplomatic, Din absolutely hates droids so he’s going all-in on being the “bad cop” against them, threatening them, and attacking them.

5. Bo-Katan challenges Axe Woves to a duel, to reclaim the Mandalorian fleet that Axe is now the leader of. The duel is fierce, brutal, and no hold barred. Bo-Katan wins the duel. She pitches her pitch to the Mandalorian, they mention that Din has the dark saber and that he hasn’t got a drop of Mandalorian blood. Din tells the Mandalorians that he explored Mandalore, and had the blade taken from him, Bo-Katan then slayed his victor, indirectly giving Bo-Katan the dark saber, becoming the rightful owner and ruler of Mandalore.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be the reveal that Commissioner Hailgate is a separatist, from The Clone Wars. He mentions that Count Dooku was a visionary and was let down by the Jedi. This whole episode focused on a Clone Wars problem has been fantastic.

Standout Character

The standout character is a hard one to choose, I’m going to go with Bo-Katan simply because she became the ruler of Mandalore, once again.

Verdict

A fantastic Clone Wars-era feel episode. It was truly spectacular having to deal with a Clone Wars-era problem and seeing Din get to go up against some battle droids. Getting to see a duel between two Mandalorians for the right to lead the fleet was incredible.
