The Star Wars universe is filled with so many vast and rich characters that a casual fan would be unaware of unless they delved further into the lore. It’s what makes the franchise so unique and special that there’s a plethora of incredible characters that are just sitting there waiting to be used.
Here is my top 5 list that I’d love to see made into a live-action series, maybe even a film series.
1. Darth Revan

It wouldn’t be a list without Darth Revan here. Revan has such a rich history that it would be difficult to wrap his story up in a single season. You would need multiple seasons to do justice to Revan. We’d need to see the Jedi version of him, falling to the dark side, his fights with Malak, and the eventual return to the light side in the end. Revan is one of those characters that I am surprised still hasn’t got a series or a movie at this stage. He’s easily, by far, the most popular Legends character there is. Now that Dave Filoni is at the helm, maybe this will happen soon.
2. Darth Bane

Darth Bane is one of the most important yet unexplored figures in Star Wars history. As the architect of the Rule of Two, Bane reshaped the Sith Order, believing that power should be concentrated rather than divided among rivals. His story, set during the fall of the old Sith Brotherhood, is one of survival, conviction, and calculated ruthlessness. A Disney+ adaptation could explore the ideological foundations of the Sith and the origins of the lineage that ultimately leads to Palpatine, grounding the dark side in philosophy as much as power.
3. Starkiller
The man who really did define what overpowered meant in Star Wars. Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, did things that we’ve never seen in Star Wars canon before, which does include pulling a Star Destroyer down with the force. There are rumours that Starkiller may be making an appearance in the second season of Ahsoka, which will really smash everything we know about the known lore, especially around Darth Vader and Palpatine. I’d still absolutely love for Sam Witwer to reprise his role and make this into a live-action series.
4. Darth Nihilus

Darth Nihilus is one of the most unsettling figures in the Old Republic era. Introduced in Knights of the Old Republic II, he is less a conventional Sith Lord and more a wound in the Force itself, sustaining his existence by draining the life energy of entire worlds. Masked and largely silent, Nihilus represents a darker, more mysterious side of Star Wars that has rarely been explored in live-action. A Disney+ series focused on his rise could lean into atmosphere and tension, offering something tonally distinct from the franchise’s usual Jedi-versus-Sith conflicts. Nihilus could easily receive the first horror-styled Star Wars project above all else as well.
5. Arcann & Thexan
Arcann and Thexan are characters; I’ll be honest, I know little about them in a lore sense. Where these brothers become known is via a cinematic trailer for The Old Republic, which I will showcase below. The story with them leads far deeper than any standard Sith/Jedi story and focuses purely on family and sometimes the expectations children can be hit with from their parents. Although we do see predominantly the story pan out in the trailer itself, I’d still love to see this fleshed out into a full-scale live-action series to see what happens after.
Honourable Mention – Darth Malgus
A central figure in the Old Republic era, Malgus is best known for his role in the brutal assault on the Jedi Temple and his belief in a stronger, more unified Sith Empire. Unlike many Sith driven purely by ambition, Malgus viewed infighting as weakness and sought to reshape the Empire itself. While he narrowly misses the main list (and it was extremely narrow), his large-scale war narrative and striking on-screen presence would translate seamlessly into a cinematic Disney+ series.
