Why Bloodshot Was Actually Good

First off, I’ll say this, this movie was my introduction to the character and universe Bloodshot is set in and for a first appearance/first time seeing this character in live-action was a great start for me to get introduced to Bloodshot.

Now fair enough you could say the story was lackluster or simply bad but for me, the story was awesome and for me personally it showcased his origins and now I have somewhat of knowledge about this character’s origins.

Vin diesel as Rick Garrison aka Bloodshot was amazing and gave an epic portrayal of the character, yes his whole look/design was changed but as I said before, for an origin this was a great start and I would assume that giving the chance for a sequel or another appearance as the character that Vin would go with a comic book design at least for the clothing.

Many of the other cast gave decent portrayals too from Eiza Gonzales to Alex Hernandez, each character had a backstory and were just all-around interesting characters, each with unique abilities similar to Bloodshot.

The action scenes and dialogue between certain characters made the movie what it was in my opinion. The action scenes were incredible, especially the whole chase scene when Bloodshot went on the run from the 2 heavy hitters who worked for the bad guy.

Now for the bad guy. Dr. Emil Harting, this was a bad guy who didn’t do much for me, I wasn’t actually interested in him until I saw how ruthless he could be to his minions, especially KT when she refused to do something he shut off her breathing.

There were a couple of things I didn’t like about the movie like Wigans who eventually helped Bloodshot, he was annoying and just boring. Alex Hernandez’s character Tibbs was such an interesting character, he essentially was a walking camera and I thought he could have been a good addition to the sequel (depending on if there is one).

Now do I think the movie should have been a billion-dollar box office hit? Not by a long shot, but it did deserve to make more than $37.3 million. I think the movie had every from action to emotion to great dialogue, but it did have its share of problems.

I truly believe the movie should have a sequel, it could be a gritty/bloody universe which would do well if they keep introducing characters and make better stories.
