Over the last few months news has been coming from everywhere for comic book movies releasing next year in 2020… from Wonder Woman 84 to the surprising Black Widow standalone movie.
I’m about to give you my top 5 most hyped movies of next year.. this list will most likely be different from the usual Marvel and DC.
5. Morbius
When I first heard the vampire Morbius was rumored to be getting his own movie as part of Sony’s universe my mind went straight to curiosity more so than excited. I hope the movie does the character justice and that Jared Leto plays the character incredibly well.
4. Bloodshot
Bloodshot is a character that I’m not familiar with in comics but I have seen some stuff on YouTube and from Jason David Frank. When I heard Vin Diesel was cast as Bloodshot I compared the two characters, Vin with how Jason David Frank looked at Bloodshot I wasn’t excited at all but after seeing the trailer that completely turned me around.
3. Black Widow
Black Widow got announced after Endgame released, many people including myself were confused as to how she’ll be getting her own solo movie in the MCU. It finally got announced as a prequel movie which will introduced a few key characters from the Marvel Universe like Taskmaster and Red Guardian.
2. Birds of Prey
I’m so excited to see Birds of Prey because we will be getting new characters in the DCEU in Black Canary, The Huntress and Renee Montoya. This isn’t all we’ll be getting as Margot Robbie will be suiting up as the crazy Harley Quinn once more.
1. Wonder Woman 1984
When the poster for Wonder Woman 84 released it got my excited straight away although that excitement died down pretty quick as it’s been a while since we got anything to do with the movie however that excitement I once had around San Diego Comic Con time sprung back to life when the trailer released and we saw Wonder Woman use her lasso to ride lightning and the reveal of the golden armor.
So there is my top 5 comic book movies that I’m most excited to see next year. I think most of them will reach between 700 million and 1 billion dollars, maybe more.
I am excited for other movies like The Eternals but because my history with those characters is very little they didn’t make the top 5 list.
