Marvel’s ‘Nova’ Movie Is Finally Happening

We’ve heard rumours surrounding a Nova project for years, but we can now confirm the movie is officially moving forward. Deadline has reported that Michael Waldron has been brought in to write the movie.

If you’re unfamiliar with the name, Waldron was the creator and head writer behind Loki, one of Marvel Studios’ most successful Disney+ series. He also wrote Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so he’s no stranger to shaping the MCU.

Prior to Waldron’s involvement, Sabir Pirzada was rumoured to have been working on a version of the project when it was being developed as a potential Disney+ series. The switch to a movie is what has seemingly prompted Marvel to bring in a brand new lead.

Beyond that, details remain scarce. What’s important here is that Nova is finally a go. Nova is widely regarded as one of Marvel’s biggest cosmic heroes, making his arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe one that fans have been waiting years to see. It’s also been a long time since we’ve seen Marvel introduce a brand new hero who isn’t spinning directly out of another character’s story.

We will endeavour to bring you any further news as it comes. The project is still in its very early stages, meaning we’re likely a number of years away from seeing anything, but it’s exciting nonetheless.
