Perhaps not the most surprising thing you’ll read today. It’s been a game that is possibly the most hyped game of all time.
The game was initially supposed to be here in the Fall of 2025, but this was delayed to May 26th, 2026. For me personally, I always had an inkling that the game would be delayed again. It feels surreal enough that the game is coming, so I didn’t have any expectations it would come in May.
The new official release date is Thursday, 19th November 2026.

Regardless of when the game does come, and that’s even IF it comes in November 2026, I’m still excited. The last time I got to play a GTA game on launch was over 12 years ago. It’s felt like a lifetime ago.
GTA 6 has a lot to live up to. The expectations are rightfully through the roof, even mine are. It’s a game with so much anticipation that I trust Take Two to make the right decision to delay the game to ensure it’s perfect on release. That’s what matters the most.
We’ve seen games launch in a horrific state, and it can almost ruin developers. Cyberpunk 2077 is a prime example of a game being forced to be launched in a horrific state. If they want to polish it and make it perfect, then I’m okay with that. After all, it’s probably gonna be 10+ years before we get to experience anything like this again. A game that’s a masterpiece on launch will do me just fine.
