I still remember 2022 with the first season of Peacemaker. My wife and I had COVID for the first time, and we were completely ruined. I was off work and could barely lift off the sofa. I had zero intentions of watching Peacemaker initially, but due to boredom, we decided to watch it. What a blast. It was one of the best series I’ve watched, even to this day.
I’ve been extremely excited for the second season. James Gunn had some huge faith in this considering it’s the only project he’s kept going. Granted, it was his project to begin with but to maintain above everything else is only a positive thing.
The second season sees the cast return for another wild ride, this time seemingly linking in with the new DC Universe that Gunn is creating. There’s a sequence in the trailer of Guy Gardner who will also appear in the upcoming Superman movie. I’m glad to see that Gunn is already linking his brand-new universe together; it has to be done, and I have faith he’ll do a much better job than what came before him.
Now, we don’t have long to wait. The release date was announced in the trailer. August 21st, 2025. A little over 3 months away.
The only thing they need to do is answer the questions of what happened at the end of the first season as Peacemaker was met by the then Justice League. With this series setting place elsewhere, they do need to address this, I hope they do.
James Gunn even released a brand new poster for the series, which you can see below;

Either way, I can’t wait, not just for this but DC moving forward as a whole. It’s looking great already with the trailers we’ve seen so far.
