Andor “What a Festive Evening” Review

Season 2 Episode 6 – “Vel and Cinta to Ghorman. Cassian home to Bix. An argument. A heist. A Party. Everything at risk.”

Please note, our reviews are based on likes and dislikes. These contain significant spoilers. If you haven’t already watched the episode, we recommend that you click off the article and come back once you have watched the episode. Enjoy!

What I Liked

1. Luthen and Cassian speak about Ghorman and what they could bring to the rebellion. Cassian disagrees that they should be brought in as they are rushing and want to hijack an Imperial transport. Luthen tells Cassian to think like a leader.

2. I do really like how, when we get scenes within the Empire, there is mention of the Emperor like he’s there but not actually there to be seen. You still feel his presence overseeing things within this story.

3. Even though it was a brief scene. We finally got to see some scenes within the Senate again. The scene shows how badly Mon Mothma hates the Senate, as we see her grip the stand tightly when the speaker is speaking about Palpatine.

4. I do like how Luthen and Mon Mothma is showing others a valuable piece of art which even sees Director Krennic come and look at it as well while Luthen’s right hand plants a listening device on another artifact.

What I Disliked

1. Even though I have mentioned I like the mentions of Emperor Palpatine, I dislike how we do not actually get to see him within this show, especially being on Coruscant, where the senate is located.

2. Even though it’s not a major issue within the show as we only see Bail Organa for a brief moment, I could notice that Jimmy Smits was a miss as his portrayal of the character is quite amazing.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be the heist on Ghorman. Each member did their part really well. The Imperial have a spy looking over the heist. Someone interrupts the heist, which leads to a single shot being fired, and it just so happens to hit Cinta.

Standout Character

I’m generally going to give this to Bix. She was amazing at the end and even got her revenge.

Verdict

While not an all-out action episode. We did get to see a heist, and some important characters like Director Krennic and Mon Mothma share a scene. I hope this ending will now give Bix the strength to move forward. Overall, a solid episode.
