The UK has apparently shifted the release date for Avengers: Doomsday, although Disney’s own UK pages haven’t all caught up yet. The new UK date is Wednesday, 16 December 2026. Updated cinema listings, including Odeon, showed Avengers: Doomsday opening on 16 December, and Disney confirmed the change to Digital Spy.
The US date has not moved. The American wide release remains Friday, 18 December, meaning UK audiences should get the movie two days before the US. There have been reports of individual US advance screenings on the 16th, but this is not a nationwide date change.
As of the time of writing this article, Disney UK’s official Doomsday page and press materials still say 18 December. So this looks like a very fresh change that hasn’t propagated across every official page yet.
Disney’s official French and German sites currently list 16 December, while Australia is currently listed for 17 December. Release tracking also has Italy on 15 December, with Mexico on the 17th. So Doomsday is shaping up as a staggered international rollout leading into the US opening.
France and Germany are officially showing the 16th, but the current reporting specifically identifies the UK move as a new development. Marvel has not suddenly moved Doomsday forward worldwide; the UK has joined several international markets opening ahead of the US on December 18th.
This makes a huge change, giving UK fans the movie 48 hours before the US, which will cause social media chaos that week.
