What I Liked

1. The episode opened up in an unhinged way. We see Bullseye attempt to be a good guy. He’s doing pretty well at it if I say so myself. He goes to a diner and orders a milkshake, calls the police, and explains Frank Castle walked in. It was all a bait move as the AVTF swarmed into the trap, Bullseye destroys them. It’s entertaining, it’s brutal, I love it.

2. I did enjoy the brief moment between Daredevil and Angela. Usually, in these types of shows, it’s like; “no, you can’t be a superhero”, I think that’s The CW embedded in me. Daredevil just made sure she understood the risks and was ready to go. That’s exactly how it should be.

3. The AVTF force their way into Kirsten’s building, demanding the location of The Swordsman. I absolutely loved the way she stood her ground. Everyone in the building panicked and dropped to their desks. Kirsten stood tall against the AVTF and specifically Powell.

4. Mr. Charles attempts to undermine Fisk and their arrangement. Charles believes he has the upper hand, but as always, Fisk is the one who does. When 2 bodyguards enter, Buck initially appears frightened before he slings 2 quick fire shots into their heads. They didn’t even have time to react.

5. Matt goes to the diner to see the aftermath of Bullseye’s work. I actually really enjoyed seeing Matt take the AFTV uniform and play the role so well with the CSI team in there.

6. Daredevil vs Bullseye. It’s not a treat when we see these two go toe to toe. Daredevil manages to get the upper hand quicker than before. Bullseye manages to get a moment by holding a woman hostage to allow him time to explain why he’s doing what he’s doing, and more importantly, why. I’m glad we truly got to hear it from the man himself that he wanted his mind back, and in doing so, he needs to balance the scales with a good deed.

7. The boxing match goes ahead between Wilson and Mike. It’s barely even a match. Fisk just destroys him. We know it’s a front as Christofi is killed by Buck after providing his testament on camera to Karen and Kirsten. It shows control. Fisk doesn’t hold back in the fight or against his enemies. I feel like the boxing fight was proof of that. Mike literally got one hit in, and that was enough. It looked initially as though Fisk had done the Ivan Drago on Apollo Creed.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favorite Moment

Bullseye enters the building and annihilates the AVTF. He goes for Vanessa; however, she shoots him at the same time and throws an ornament at her. Fisk blocks the shot, and due to the shot he took, he stumbles back, and Fisk is close to shooting him before Daredevil intervenes. It’s what comes after that that is shocking. I had a feeling her time was up, and as the episode ends, it seems that way. Vanessa has a shard of the ornament stuck in her head with blood pouring out. What an ending.

Standout Character

Bullseye. Without question. The man is unhinged, and it’s genuinely terrifying when he’s on screen. He acts the good guy, but you honestly have no idea what his next move will be. Even during his fight with Daredevil, he still found a way out, as he always does. He was incredible this episode.

Verdict

The best episode of the season so far. Everything from the story to the action was executed perfectly. The tensions in the beginning, the cliffhanger ending, it had everything, and that’s why I’ve dropped a 10/10 on this. It’s a far cry away from the previous episode that I couldn’t get on board with, and this episode shows exactly how good this show can be.
