Insomniac Game’s “Miles Morales” Voice Actor Confirms Venom Game

A little while back now, Insomniac Games had a massive Hack where the hackers wanted around $2 million (50 Bitcoin) to not release files and information; however, Insomniac Games/Sony refused, so the hackers released it.

The hackers decided to dump a massive 1.6-1.7 terabytes of data online, which consisted of over 1.3 million files, think of it as the studio’s entire hard drive onto the internet. There was gameplay and early builds of Marvel’s Wolverine, story details, characters, and voice cast, internal roadmaps for future games, like Spider-Man 3, X-Men projects, and budgets and development timelines.

People were literally playing an unfinished Wolverine build within days of the leak. Along with the game stuff, also came personal employee data, internal company data, and more. This was not just the studio’s hard work being leaked, but also employees’ data. One of the major things released was a spin-off Venom game.

The Venom game was an interesting bit that was leaked. While it was as exposed as Wolverine was, there was enough there to get a rough idea of what it would have been like. It was confirmed that Insomniac was working on a standalone Venom game, which was not announced at the time. It had appeared in the internal roadmaps alongside Spider-Man and X-Men projects.

The Venom game was described as a spin-off / mid-sized AA-style title and designed to be the bridge between Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. Think of it as a similar game to that of Miles Morales. The internal documents suggested that a target of 2025 would be the release date, with later reports stating it may have slipped to 2027 or beyond, but nothing has come from it since, maybe due to the leaks.

In a recent interview, Nadji Jeter, the voice actor for Miles Morales in the Spider-Man games, said that the Venom standalone game or DLC was going to happen after Spider-Man 2, but it was cancelled after the passing of iconic actor Tony Todd in 2024.

An attendee at GDC 2026 said that they were still hearing about the Venom game at the event this year, which would obviously indicate that the project had not been cancelled just yet. Industry Insider, Jason Schreier, also commented on the viral Resetera thread to state that the quote from the Miles Morales voice actor “wasn’t true”.

We can only hope that after the release of Marvel’s Wolverine, Insomniac Games will announce this Venom game officially, or even announce Spider-Man 3.
