Sony’s PlayStation Showcase Absolutely Sucked

Sony’s PlayStation Showcase aired on a live stream on Youtube and Twitch showcasing their upcoming video games releasing in the near future.

Normally Sony would come prepared with some massive games ready to be released so you’d expect this event to be very similar but it wasn’t anything remotely close to being amazing and up to Sony’s standard.

The games were either boring, trash, generic, or just simply uninteresting.


Described as a “competitive modern heist game where you team up to break into exotic locations and steal cargo”.

Helldivers 2

A third-person co-op shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios.

Immortals of Aveum

A new trailer for Ascendant Studio’s first-person magic shooter was published by EA and is due for a July release.


Ghostrunner 2

505 Games and One More Level revealed that Ghostrunner 2 will be coming to PC and consoles later this year.

Phantom Blade Zero

Quickfire action RPG Phantom Blade Zero is from a developer called Cruel Man Studio and debuted a trailer.

Sword of the Sea

From Giatn Squid Studios, the developer of Abzu brings us Sword of the Sea.

The Talos Principle 2

Due out this year, Croteam and Devolver Digital announced The Talos Principle 2.


Due out in 2024, Devolver Digital and Griz developer Nomada Studio announced Neva.

Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean

Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean is due for a 2024 release.



Square Enix rolled up with a game that is seemingly a Nintendo’s Splatoon rip-off.

The Plucky Squire

The Plucky Squire comes with a 2023 release date.


A fun game that I’ve seen a couple of videos on, looks fun. Comes to console this year.

Towers of Aghasba

A Dreamlit Games open-world builder.

Final Fantasy 16

The Final Fantasy 16 trailer.

Alan Wake 2

Epic and Remedy revealed the trailer for Alan Wake 2, with a release date of 17th October 2023.


Revenant Hill

Finji announced the debut game from The Glory Society.


Cygames’ action RPG Granblue Fantasy game Relink is due out this winter.

Street Fighter 6

The new trailer for the Street Fighter 6 game has been released focusing on the World Tour mode, the single-player campaign.


A psychedelic side-scrolling action game that is set to be out in 2024.

Tower of Fantasy

An open-world RPG comes out this summer.

Dragon’s Dogma 2

A trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2.


Five Nights at Freddy’s Help Wanted 2

Coming out in late 2023, a new trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s Help Wanted 2 was shown.

Resident Evil 4 VR

Resident Evil 4 fans most anticipated VR mode.

Arizona Sunshine 2 VR

A new trailer for Arizona Sunshine 2. Due out 2023.

Crossfire: Sierra Squad

Smilefate revealed a VR shooter.


nDreams announced a July 4th release date for a shooter.

Beat Saber

Beat Saber announced a Queen Music Pack.



Bungie revealed it’s next game, Marathon. A new sci-fi PVP extraction shooter.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape

A new trailer for Destiny 2: The Final Shape.


A new PVP multiplayer first-person shooter from Firewalk Studios launching in 2024.

After sitting through all of this, we finally get to the good parts and the only saving grace this event had.
