It seems like it is the age of mutants now, as we have a few rumored castings and one announced casting so far, along with Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, who debuted in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Over the past few days, even a week or so, the X-Men have been a huge topic with daily rumors of castings; however, recently we got our official second casting of the new X-Men within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Samara Weaving joins the cast as Emma Frost; she joins Sadie Sink as one of the first X-Men cast in this new generation of X-Men. Other rumored castings so far are;
- Cailee Spaeny as Rogue (rumored)
- Charles Melton as Beast (rumored)
- Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister (rumored)
- Tramell Tillman as William Metzger (rumored)
Inde Navarette has come out and said she met with the director and she would love to play Mystique, Drew Starkey is rumored to be the main one for Cyclops, Cooper Hoffman is also a name that is being linked with the Cyclops role, while Bill Skarsgård is rumored to be Professor X, but these are just rumored so take this with a grain of salt until an official announcement like Samara Weaving has happened.
It’s not out of pocket to say that Mahershala Ali’s “Blade” has not had an easy time. I mean, the movie has been stuck in development hell for god knows how long; Ali himself has been cast in the role since 2019. From continuous setbacks to multiple scripts, the project just hasn’t been great.
Now, Mahershala Ali has announced he has left the role of Blade; the actor has also firmly suggested that Marvel “dropped the ball” with the project, and honestly, I have to agree. Ali has stated, “I’ve been doing this professionally for pushing 30 years now, and one thing I’ve learned is that what is for you is for you and what is not is not. For whatever reason, that project is not for me. If they wanted to do it, we would’ve done it. So I have to move on … Again, you had me under contract; they have billions of dollars, if they wanted to do the movie, we would’ve done the movie. So we’re not doing the movie … But I feel ready to move on from the Blade questions. Those questions are for them. They didn’t want to do it, so they should answer that question.”
Marvel has reportedly locked in almost every member of their future X-Men Reboot Roster, and both ‘X-MEN’ and ‘BLACK PANTHER 3’ will reportedly start pre-production about two weeks apart.
