Why Batman Should Appear In The Penguin Finale

The Penguin is up there as one of the best shows of the year without a shadow of a doubt. I was not expecting the show to be as good as it has been but it’s been something I’ve looked forward to every single week.

During the course of the show, we’ve only had the Dark Knight mentioned once and this was in the beginning as we see a news anchor explaining the events of The Flood. That’s all we’ve heard or seen from Batman himself.

There’s always been a lingering question of whether or not Batman should show up. If he doesn’t, will it take away from how good the show has been? Definitely not. Will it give the show something more? Of course.

It makes sense above all else. We’ve seen Sofia murder her entire family, literal close executions in the street, drug wars getting out of hand, and Penguin running rampant. There’s no way Bruce himself isn’t clear as to what’s going on.

Then there is also the fact that Crown Point got leveled, Maroni was killed, and the list goes on. We’ve seen Batman get involved for a lot less including in his movie when a politician was killed by the Riddler.

I’m not saying Batman needs to be in the entire finale, as I don’t want anything taken away from Oz. However, I think if there is to be an epic showdown, then it deserves to have Batman in there somewhere.

I do believe we will at the very least get the bat signal but I’d rather have Robert Pattinson be there either as Bruce or Batman. It’ll make the show come full circle to the movie. Plus, this is Matt Reeves’ universe after all.

The Batman 2 is scheduled for a 2026 release so despite the fact it’s around 2 years away or so from now, there’s nothing else for Batman to really do so this would be the perfect opportunity to continue cementing his legacy and it will also add further fuel to the hype for the movie.

Roll on Monday, though!
